Reward the habit,
not just the sign-upThe average gym loses about a third of its members every year. Perk rewards every check-in and reminds members to come back before the habit slips.
A new sign-up doesn’t
guarantee a member.
Members rarely quit in one moment. They visit less, the habit fades, and the cancellation follows weeks later.
A third of members leave every year
Member retention averaged 66.4% across fitness facilities, so roughly one in three members leaves each year.

Most cancellations come early
Most cancellations happen within the first three months, particularly between months two and three.

Happy members still cancel
Members can report being happy with their gym and still cancel. Showing up consistently predicts retention more than satisfaction.

A reason to keep
showing up.
Make membership feel rewarding
Give members a digital membership card with perks they can show at the front desk, right from their phone wallet.
Reward the first weeks
New members start a visit card on day one, so every early check-in moves them towards a reward.
Nudge before the habit slips
Set an automatic reminder after the number of days you choose, and send offers to members who have gone quiet.
Fitness runs on
regular visits.
Visit frequency is the earliest signal of who stays. Members who build a routine and feel recognised are the ones who renew.
longer, on average, is how long members stay when they visit four or more times a month.
more likely to return, for members who have four or more conversations with staff a month.
Every workout sets up
the next one.
Members who visit four or more times a month stay an average of seven months longer (Dr. Paul Bedford via ABC Fitness, 2026). Perk helps you keep that rhythm going.

Can I reward check-ins and classes?
Yes. A stamp card adds a stamp each time a member visits or attends a class, so every session counts towards their reward.
Do my members need to download an app?
No. They save your card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in a couple of taps.
Can I sell class packs?
Yes. A multipass card lets you sell prepaid bundles of classes or sessions.
How do my staff add visits?
Staff scan the member’s card with the Perk scanner in any phone’s browser. Each team member can have their own login.
Can I run more than one card?
Yes. You can run several cards for one business, for example a membership card and a separate card for your juice bar.
How do I bring back members who stopped coming?
Perk sorts members by how recently and how often they visit. Choose the ones who have gone quiet and send them a targeted offer by push notification.
